Being a camper for many years, I would have to say that I go for discount camping gear more than second hand equipment. This only holds true if the discount camping gear carries trusted names like Coleman because even though they are less in price, the quality is still the same. You can expect the same quality as you would have when you buy a regular Coleman product. But when you buy a second hand camping gear, you never really know what kind of wear and tear it has already gone through and that you can never be sure of its quality or its working condition.
