What sleeping pads should I use with my sleeping bags?

Sleeping bags are more comfortable to use if you have a sleeping pad. You have the option between closed-cell foam pads and open-cell foam pads. The first ones are lightweight, inexpensive and waterproof. However, they are bulky and difficult to pack. The second type on the other hand can compress more efficiently and are also lightweight and inexpensive. The only downside is that if they get wet, they become soggy and uncomfortable to sleep on. Knowing the pros and cons of each type will make it easier for you to make a decision. Just like when buying a sleeping bag, it is imperative that you choose a good quality brand.
