What things should my kids need to know prior to camping?

Camping preparation is made easy if you talk things out with your child. This will gauge if he’s ready for camping or not. Be positive and cheerful as you relate the whole camping adventure. Talk of realities in areas such as in the sleeping quarters, food provision, toilet amenities and the likely possibility that he needs to help around. Ask him his expectations and be ready to point out facts that differ from what he expects. Orient him on the camping supplies needed so he can picture out the accommodations he is going to live in. Discuss emergency situations so he’ll more or less know what to do if the adults are not around. Lastly, excite him with outdoor activities that you can do while in camp.
